The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has published its report for the third quarter of 2025, revealing 26 potential match-fixing alerts identified through data from partners within the regulated betting industry. Compared to the 10 alerts recorded in Q2 2025, the number has almost tripled.
Most of the suspicious activity was detected at lower-tier tournaments — ITF and Challenger events — where the risk of manipulation is traditionally higher. One case was reported at a Grand Slam tournament, the US Open.
According to ITIA, the distribution of the matches was as follows:
- ATP Challenger 125 — 1
- Challenger 100 — 1
- Challenger 75 — 2
- Challenger 50 — 9
- US Open — 1
- M25 (Men’s) — 6
- M15 (Men’s) — 6
The agency emphasized that an alert alone does not constitute proof of match-fixing. Irregular betting patterns can be caused by factors such as market errors, player fitness issues, or weather conditions. However, when analysis indicates possible corruption, the ITIA initiates a full investigation.
During the third quarter, the agency also issued several disciplinary sanctions under its anti-corruption program. The following players were banned for offenses ranging from match manipulation to betting on tennis:
- Rakhimbek Ibragimov (Uzbekistan) — 21 months
- Lauro Milanovic (Croatia) — 8 years
- Stefano Reitano (Italy) — 7 months
- Francesco Totaro (Italy) — lifetime ban
- Murod Abdurakhimov (Uzbekistan) — 20 years
- Artem Dabrjan (Poland) — 3 years
- Imran Sibille (Morocco) — 1 year
- Luc Fomba (France) — 2 months
- Simon Ivanov (Bulgaria) — 5 years
- Jatuporn Na Lamphun (Thailand) — lifetime ban
The number of suspicious matches in Q3 2025 is comparable to the 28 alerts recorded in the same period of 2024, but significantly higher than the 10 alerts reported in the second quarter of this year.
