What Is a 2/4 System Bet
A 2/4 system bet is a type of bet where you pick 4 selections, and the bookmaker automatically creates bets on all possible pairs of those selections.
So instead of one accumulator, you’re placing several small accumulators (parlays) with 2 selections each.
Simple explanation
You choose 4 matches: Match A, Match B, Match C and Match D.
With a 2/4 system, the bet is split into all possible 2-match combinations:
- A + B
- A + C
- A + D
- B + C
- B + D
- C + D
👉 That means 6 separate bets in total.
A 2/4 system is basically saying: “I don’t know exactly which two will win, but I’m confident that at least two of the four will.”
What Happens with the Result?
- ✅ 2 wins → 1 winning combination → you may recover part of your stake
- ✅ 3 wins → 3 winning combinations → usually a profit
- ✅ 4 wins → all 6 combinations win → maximum return 💰
- ❌ 0 or 1 win → the bet loses
How It Works
If you place a $60 bet, it is split into 6 equal parts. Each double gets $10 ($60 ÷ 6 = $10). The odds of each double are calculated separately, and your total payout depends on how many doubles win.
How to place a 2/4 System Bet:
- Pick 4 events from any sport or market.
- Choose a 2/4 system — the bookmaker will automatically create 6 doubles.
- Enter your total stake and place the bet.
- Win: You get paid for every winning double.
- Lose: The bet loses only if three or all four selections lose.
2/4 System Bet in Action
Scenario 1: Lucky Strike
In this scenario, all four selections win, so all six doubles are successful. Each selection represents a different match:
- Liverpool to win vs Chelsea — odds 2.0
- Manchester City to win vs Arsenal — odds 3.0
- Juventus to win vs Inter — odds 1.5
- Barcelona to win vs Atlético Madrid — odds 2.5
| Double | Odds | Result |
| Liverpool win & Man City win | 2.0 x 3.0 = 6.0 | Won |
| Liverpool win & Juventus win | 2.0 x 1.5 = 3.0 | Won |
| Liverpool win & Barcelona win | 2.0 x 2.5 = 5.0 | Won |
| Man City win & Juventus win | 3.0 x 1.5 = 4.5 | Won |
| Man City win & Barcelona win | 3.0 x 2.5 = 7.5 | Won |
| Juventus win & Barcelona win | 1.5 x 2.5 = 3.75 | Won |
If you place a $60 system bet, each double receives $10 of the stake.
Your total return is $297.5:
($10 × 6.0) + ($10 × 3.0) + ($10 × 5.0) + ($10 × 4.5) + ($10 × 7.5) + ($10 × 3.75)
That results in a profit of $237.5 ($297.5 − $60).
Scenario 2: Close Call
The four selections come from different matches:
- Liverpool vs Chelsea — win (2.0)
- Man City vs Arsenal — loss (3.0)
- Juventus vs Inter — win (1.5)
- Barcelona vs Atlético — win (2.5)
In this scenario, the Manchester City selection loses, while the other three picks win.
| Double | Odds | Result |
| Liverpool and Man City | 2.0 x 3.0 = 6.0 | Lost |
| Liverpool and Juventus | 2.0 x 1.5 = 3.0 | Won |
| Liverpool and Barcelona | 2.0 x 2.5 = 5.0 | Won |
| Man City and Juventus | 3.0 x 1.5 = 4.5 | Lost |
| Man City and Barcelona | 3.0 x 2.5 = 7.5 | Lost |
| Juventus and Barcelona | 1.5 x 2.5 = 3.75 | Won |
If you bet $60 on the system, each double gets $10 of your stake. So, you get $117.5 as a return: ($10 × 3) + ($10 × 5) + ($10 × 3.75), which is a profit of $57.5 ($117.5 − $60). Not bad for a close call, right?
