A 3/4 system bet is a system wager where you select four events, and the bookmaker automatically creates all possible 3-selection accumulators from them.
You’re not betting on all four events at once. Instead, you’re placing a single bet that actually consists of four different 3-leg parlays. This gives you insurance — one losing pick doesn’t kill the entire bet.
How 3/4 System Bet Works?
You pick 4 selections: A, B, C, D → the system creates 4 accumulators: A+B+C, A+B+D, A+C+D, and B+C+D. 1 system bet equals 4 bets, and 3 correct picks are enough to get a return.
| Selections Won | Outcome |
| 4 out of 4 | All accumulators win — maximum payout |
| 3 out of 4 | 1 accumulator wins — partial return |
| 0–2 | All accumulators lose |
Example 1: Sweet Victory
Imagine that you hit all 4 picks. Each selection comes from a different tennis match: Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, and Osaka all win their respective matches.
| Treble | Odds | Result |
| Djokovic, Federer, Nadal | 1.2 x 1.5 x 1.6 = 2.88 | Won |
| Djokovic, Federer, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.5 x 2.0 = 3.6 | Won |
| Djokovic, Nadal, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 3.84 | Won |
| Federer, Nadal, Osaka | 1.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 4.8 | Won |
Let’s say you bet $40 on the system. Each treble gets a 1/4 of your stake (since there are 4 trebles). So, to get your return, use this formula:
Return = Stake x (1/4) x (Sum of treble odds)
This way, you get $151.2 as a return: $40 x (1/4) x (15.12); and a profit of $111.2 ($151.2 – $40).
Example 2: Slight Loss
Even if one selection loses (Osaka), it’s not over. You can still have a chance to win money back. Here’s the logic behind it:
| Treble | Odds | Result |
| Djokovic, Federer, Nadal | 1.2 x 1.5 x 1.6 = 2.88 | Won |
| Djokovic, Federer, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.5 x 2.0 = 3.6 | Lost |
| Djokovic, Nadal, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 3.84 | Lost |
| Federer, Nadal, Osaka | 1.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 4.8 | Lost |
Here’s what you’ll get: ($10 x 2.88) = $28.8, which is a slight loss of $11.2 ($40 – $28.8).

💡 How a 3/4 system differs from a regular accumulator?
- In a standard 4-fold accumulator, one losing pick means you lose everything
- With a 3/4 system bet, you can miss one selection and still get paid
A 3/4 system bet is essentially insurance for a four-selection parlay. One mistake is allowed — and you can still get a payout.
