A 3/4 system bet is a type of bet that allows you to wager on 4 events in 4 different combinations (trebles), and you need at least 3 correct events to win the bet (based on the odds).
Note: The 1st number (3) indicates how many events are in each combo, and the 2nd number (4) reveals how many events you have to choose from.
For example: If you bet on A, B, C, and D, your trebles would be: ABC, ABD, ACD, and BCD.
How to Do a 3/4 System Bet
- Choose your events. Pick 4 events from any sport or market you like.
- Select 3/4 System Bet. Your bet slip will do the magic and create 4 trebles from your 4 selections.
- Enter your stake. Put your stake on your bet slip (it’ll be split equally among the 4 trebles).
- Get your payout. Receive your payment based on the odds and the number of winning trebles.
- Lose your stake. The bet is lost if more than one pick loses.
3/4 System Bet Outcomes
Example 1: Sweet Victory
Imagine that you hit all 4 picks. The 4 tennis players you chose are: Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, and Osaka.
Treble | Odds | Result |
Djokovic, Federer, Nadal | 1.2 x 1.5 x 1.6 = 2.88 | Won |
Djokovic, Federer, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.5 x 2.0 = 3.6 | Won |
Djokovic, Nadal, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 3.84 | Won |
Federer, Nadal, Osaka | 1.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 4.8 | Won |
Let’s say you bet $40 on the system. Each treble gets a 1/4 of your stake (since there are 4 trebles). So, to get your return, use this formula:
Return = Stake x (1/4) x (Sum of odds of all trebles).
This way, you get $151.2 as a return: $40 x (1/4) x (15.12); and a profit of $111.2 ($151.2 – $40).
Example 2: Slight Loss
Even if you fail one event (Osaka), it’s not over. You can still have a chance to win money back. Here’s the logic behind it:
Treble | Odds | Result |
Djokovic, Federer, Nadal | 1.2 x 1.5 x 1.6 = 2.88 | Won |
Djokovic, Federer, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.5 x 2.0 = 3.6 | Lost |
Djokovic, Nadal, Osaka | 1.2 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 3.84 | Lost |
Federer, Nadal, Osaka | 1.5 x 1.6 x 2.0 = 4.8 | Lost |
Here’s what you’ll get: ($10 x 2.88) = $28.8, which is a slight loss of $11.2 ($40 – $28.8).
Note: You don’t need to break your head with the math. Use 3/4 system bet Calculator to see how much you can win. Just enter the numbers and see the results!
Pros and Cons of a 3/4 System Bet
Pros | Cons |
Room for error: Make money or lose nothing with one wrong pick. | Smaller reward: Earn less than a parlay with all correct picks. |
Less loss: You only lose 1/4 of your stake per treble. | More math: Deal with 4 different trebles and their odds and payouts. |
More freedom to choose: Pick any sport or market for your selections. | Less availability: This bet is less offered than other popular systems. |
