1xCare, an organization founded and funded by bookmaker 1xBet, has signed a partnership agreement with FEJAR, a Spanish organization that supports people struggling with gambling addiction and their families, according to iGaming Business.
The partners will initially explore ways to make FEJAR’s online therapy and other support services more accessible. This is particularly important for people who live far from specialized treatment centers or are unable to attend in-person sessions for other reasons.
A key provision of the agreement is designed to ensure that the partnership does not become a marketing tool for the gambling industry. FEJAR is under no obligation to promote 1xBet in exchange for support.
1xCare will also be prohibited from using the partnership to contact people undergoing treatment or interfere with the work of healthcare professionals. Patients’ personal information will remain confidential.
1xCare Chairman Simon Westbury emphasized that the organization’s goal is to improve access to professional support while ensuring that FEJAR retains complete independence in treatment-related decisions.
For now, the two organizations have signed only a framework agreement outlining their intended areas of cooperation. Specific projects, funding commitments and implementation arrangements have yet to be agreed upon.
1xCare launched in June 2026, focusing on gambling harm prevention, research and education. Among its previous initiatives was a training workshop for representatives of football clubs in Nigeria.
1xBet is a licensed betting operator in Spain. The brand operates through Wagerfair S.A., which obtained its betting license from the country’s gambling regulator in 2015.
