Softswiss: Crypto Betting Volume Declined by 14.6% in 2022

SoftSwiss, a company specializing in developing iGaming solutions, has released data on the turnover of cryptocurrency bets in 2022.

Last year, the total volume of bets in cryptocurrencies processed by operators using SoftSwiss platforms was €20.2 billion.

This is 14.6% lower than the figure recorded in 2021. By the end of 2022, fiat currencies (payment methods whose nominal value is established, ensured, and guaranteed by the government) accounted for 76% of the total number of accepted bets.

Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency in gambling, with 72.7% of bets made using this digital asset last year. 

Ethereum (13.6%) and Litecoin (5.5%) also made it into the top three leaders.

In total, SoftSwiss platforms processed over €84 billion in bets in 2022, which is 30% more than the previous year. The Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) of operators using SoftSwiss solutions was €3.3 billion, while the same indicator in 2021 stood at €2.4 billion.
