From Football to Greyhound Racing: IBIA Reports 76 Suspicious Betting Alerts in Q2

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) reported 76 suspicious betting alerts across nine sports between April and June 2026, according to the organisation’s latest quarterly integrity report.

The total was six higher than in the first quarter of the year, representing an increase of around 9%. IBIA recorded 70 alerts between January and March. On a year-on-year basis, the figure rose by seven, or approximately 10%, from 69 alerts in the second quarter of 2025.

Football accounted for the largest number of alerts in Q2 2026. The breakdown by sport was as follows:

• football — 25;
• esports — 16;
• basketball — 10;
• tennis — 9;
• darts — 5;
• greyhound racing — 4;
• cricket — 3;
• table tennis — 3;
• volleyball — 1.

Europe accounted for the largest regional share of suspicious betting alerts. The geographical breakdown was:

• Europe — 33%;
• South America — 22%;
• Africa — 15%;
• Asia — 4%;
• North America — 4%;
• Oceania — 1%.

A further 21% of alerts had no specific regional classification. All 16 of these cases involved esports competitions.

Paraguay recorded the highest number of alerts among individual countries, with seven in total: five in basketball and two in football. IBIA identified five suspicious football alerts in Kosovo, while another five related to darts events in the United Kingdom.
