Two U.S. Army veterans, Joel Strasser and Garrett Smith, are preparing to set a Guinness World Record in Las Vegas by visiting 75 casinos within 24 hours, Casino.org reports.
The attempt will begin on Thursday, September 25, at 3:00 p.m. local time and conclude at the same hour on Friday. Their route will take them through casinos across the city, including the Las Vegas Strip.
The current record stands at 74 casinos in a single day, set by Kimo Ah Yun and Gary Meyer.
To surpass it, Strasser and Smith must not only enter each venue but also play a table game — slot machines are not permitted under Guinness rules.
The guidelines also prohibit the use of taxis, rental cars, or personal vehicles. Only pre-approved forms of public transport, such as the Las Vegas Monorail, are allowed. However, the participants plan to rely mainly on walking and bicycles.
Both Strasser and Smith already hold multiple Guinness World Records. Now, they aim to add another by conquering as many casinos as possible in a single day.
Their challenge will be complicated by the weather: late September temperatures in Las Vegas are expected to be extremely high, adding another layer of difficulty to moving between casinos.
