Curaçao Court to Hear MyStake Appeal Over 97% of Player’s Winnings

The Curaçao Court of Appeal will hear a dispute over the payment of €246,500 to a Spanish player whose winnings were voided by online casino MyStake. NEXT.io reported the case.

The defendant is Curaçao-registered Santeda, which operates MyStake, Donbet, Velobet and Goldenbet. The company is appealing a lower-court ruling ordering it to pay the player the full amount.

The dispute arose after MyStake allowed the player to keep only €7,500 of his €246,500 in winnings. The casino said he had breached its terms by placing wagers above the maximum permitted stake of €20.

Casino Guru previously published a complaint from a Spanish MyStake player that matches the court case in its key details. The player said he had received a €340 cashback bonus and then placed wagers of €100 each. According to him, the website accepted the bets and customer support confirmed that he had met the bonus wagering requirements.

The winnings disappeared from his account the following day. A MyStake representative said the player’s stakes had exceeded the permitted limit.

The restriction was therefore included in the bonus terms, but the website did not technically prevent the player from placing larger wagers.

The lower court rejected the operator’s arguments.

Under the terms of its licence, the casino should have asked the player to reduce his stake or prevented him from continuing to play above the limit.

In March 2025, the court ordered Santeda to pay the player the full amount, together with interest and legal costs.

The dispute is one of around 25 cases involving claims brought by players against the operator. Most of the proceedings ended in settlements under which players received part of the amounts claimed.

Santeda made more than 60 attempts to settle the case with the Spanish player out of court. However, he refused to accept less than 72.5%–75% of the winnings.

Cyberluck, which granted Santeda a sub-licence in 2019, is also involved in the proceedings. Curaçao abolished its sub-licensing system after adopting new gambling legislation in late 2024.

A ruling on the appeal is expected today, July 28. The court will decide whether to uphold the order requiring Santeda to pay the player the full amount.
