Bedbugs Confirmed at Six Well-Known Las Vegas Casino Resorts

Bedbugs were found in rooms at some of Las Vegas’ largest casino resorts. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the cases, citing documents from the Southern Nevada Health District.

Since the beginning of 2024, the health district has received more than 80 complaints about bedbugs at hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Following inspections, the presence of insects was confirmed at six properties.

The cases were reported at Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Resorts World, The Strat and Horseshoe Las Vegas.

After bedbugs were discovered, rooms were temporarily taken out of service and treated by pest control companies. In some cases, follow-up inspections found no further signs of insects, after which the rooms were reopened for guests.

One of the most detailed complaints came from a guest at Horseshoe Las Vegas in March 2025. The guest said they found insects on clothing, shoes, bedding and a mattress, and also reported multiple bites.

In addition, in May 2025, four former guests filed lawsuits against Treasure Island and Luxor. The plaintiffs claimed that they were bitten by bedbugs during their stays.

Diego Rodriguez, a pest control specialist at Preventive Pest Control, said that bedbugs can appear in hotels of any category and that their presence is not necessarily linked to cleaning standards. According to him, the insects are usually spread through guests’ luggage and personal belongings.

During a full hotel inspection, bedbugs may be found in around 5–10% of rooms, the expert said. In higher-end hotels, the figure is usually around 1–2%. No known cases of disease transmission to humans through bedbug bites have been reported.
