Guinness World Record: Nearly Five-Metre Slot Machine Installed in Canada

Gaming operator BetRivers has set a Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest slot machine. The company announced the achievement on its social media accounts, saying the installation was timed to coincide with the brand’s launch in the Canadian province of Alberta.

The machine stands 4.88 metres (16 feet) tall and has been installed at West Edmonton Mall, a shopping and entertainment centre in Edmonton, the provincial capital.

The structure took four weeks to assemble, and the record was officially verified by a Guinness World Records representative.

Rush Street Interactive Chief Executive Richard Schwartz said the installation formed part of the company’s entry into the Alberta market and reflected the brand’s focus on online casino gaming.

A temporary Gold Rush-themed attraction has also opened at the mall.

Visitors aged 18 and over can play the giant slot machine for a chance to win a gold bar worth $4,300. The attraction will remain open until the end of December.

After the promotion ends, the company plans to showcase the world’s largest slot machine in other North American gambling markets. BetRivers’ launch in Alberta is being supported by an advertising campaign across television, radio, digital platforms and outdoor media.

Alberta’s regulated iGaming market launched on 13 July 2026. The province became the second Canadian jurisdiction after Ontario to allow private online casino and sports betting operators. Alberta has a population of around 5.1 million.
