According to sources cited by Next.io, gambling operator BC.Game is taking steps to overturn last year’s Curaçao court ruling that declared the company bankrupt. If successful, the move could allow the operator to reinstate its license on the Caribbean island.
Barbara Nagelmaekers, the court-appointed trustee overseeing BC.Game’s bankruptcy process, said one of the key arguments for annulment is the low likelihood of player claims — brought by the SBGOK fund — being satisfied. These claims served as the basis for the bankruptcy petition.
In 2024, the Curaçao court sided with SBGOK, forcing BC.Game to surrender its local license and continue operating under an authorization issued in Anjouan (Comoros). It was later revealed that the Anjouan license had been obtained through Twocent Technology Limited, a company supposedly registered in Belize. Authorities in Belize, however, denied that the firm was ever incorporated there.
Sources told Next.io that BC.Game is keen to return to Curaçao and resume operations under its former license. To achieve this, the company is planning to settle outstanding disputes with players out of court.
Industry observers note that the push is also motivated by looming concerns in Europe, where anti–money laundering authorities are considering prohibiting financial service providers from working with operators licensed in Anjouan. Such restrictions could put BC.Game — and many other offshore firms — in a difficult position.
