Italy’s regulatory authorities have approved a €2.3 billion ($2.5 billion) acquisition deal between global gaming giant Flutter and Playtech, Flutter’s press office confirmed.
Originally announced in September 2024, the deal allows Flutter to acquire Snaitech, one of Italy’s largest gaming operators, which is currently owned by Playtech.
The acquisition is expected to be finalized by the end of April.
“The acquisition of Snai fully aligns with Flutter’s strategy to invest in leadership positions in attractive international markets. This creates value through providing access to Flutter’s market-leading products and capabilities,” the company stated.
Flutter also confirmed that it will release its quarterly financial report on May 7, which will include further details on the Playtech transaction.
