Entain plc, the gambling group that owns brands including Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, PartyPoker, BetCity, STS and Sportingbet, has reported its financial results for 2025.
The company posted a net loss of £681 million (about €797 million), widening by £220 million (about €257 million) compared with the previous year. As a result, Entain has now reported losses for the third consecutive year.
At the same time, the group’s core business indicators continued to grow. Gaming revenue reached £5.33 billion (about €6.2 billion), up 3% year-on-year. EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) rose 7% to £1.16 billion (about €1.36 billion).
The main factor behind the loss was a one-off impairment charge of £488 million (approximately €571 million).
The company reassessed the value of its UK business following the government’s decision to increase the tax on online gambling. From April 2026, the rate will rise from 21% to 40%. Entain said the change is expected to reduce future profitability, prompting the asset write-down in its 2025 financial statements.
Among other highlights, the report noted strong growth at BetMGM, Entain’s joint venture with MGM Resorts International in the United States. The project’s revenue rose 33% to €2.6 billion, while the business reported its first profit.
The company expects the group’s online revenue to continue growing by around 5–7% in 2026.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported that Spain’s gambling regulator had fined several licensed operators, including 888, Betfair and Entain, a total of €3.5 million for violations of local gambling regulations.
