According to Bangkok Post, Thai anti-crime activist Achariya Ruangrattanapong has accused officers of the Royal Thai Police of involvement in illegal gambling activities.

The activist appeared at the Royal Thai Police headquarters in Bangkok with a banner containing the names of 16 corrupt law enforcement officers, including a former chief of the Thai national police. Although the banner was not attached to the police station fence, its content was reported by local media.

Ruangrattanapong claims that the banner only had the names of 16 out of 100 Thai law enforcement officers he plans to expose.

The officers mentioned allegedly have direct ties to the management of illegal gambling sites in Thailand, even though their official duty is to combat illegal gambling activities.

According to the activist, the former chief of the Thai national police and several Lieutenant Generals within the agency controlled approximately 70% of illegal gambling sites in Thailand. Additionally, an unnamed Thai football club is said to have been used for money laundering related to gambling.

It is worth noting that not everything is running smoothly in the Thai law enforcement system. Currently, an investigation is ongoing regarding the police chief of Chonburi province’s possible connection with the gambling website Saipay69.
