Hernán Casanova, the suspended tennis player
The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has suspended Argentine tennis player Hernán Casanova for two months for breaching betting regulations.
The 32-year-old admitted placing bets on a number of tennis matches between 2023 and 2025. Casanova did not compete in those matches and was not in a position to influence their outcome. However, such conduct constitutes a violation of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).
Casanova also acknowledged that in 2024 he failed to report to the ITIA a corrupt approach he had received. Details of the approach were not disclosed.
In addition to the suspension, Casanova was fined $2,000, of which $1,500 is suspended.
During the period of ineligibility, he is prohibited from competing, coaching, or attending any tennis events sanctioned by organizations within the ITIA’s jurisdiction.
Casanova’s highest ATP singles ranking was No. 221, while his best doubles ranking was No. 160. Both were achieved in 2022.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported that french tennis player Quentin Folliot banned for 20 Years Over Match-Fixing.
