Match-fixing is a serious threat to the integrity of football, and Brazil is taking steps to combat it. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced a new partnership with the Federal Police of Brazil (PF) to crack down on this illegal activity, as reported by iGaming Business.

The goal of this collaboration is to protect the fairness and security of Brazilian football, which is one of the most popular and influential sports in the country. The CBF and the PF will work together to monitor and investigate any suspicious betting activity in the Brazilian leagues.

To do this, the PF will have access to all the reports on potential match-fixing cases detected by Sportradar, a Swiss company that provides odds and statistical data for bookmakers.

Sportradar is also a partner of the CBF and uses its own Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) to identify irregular betting patterns and alert the authorities.

It’s worth mentioning that Sportradar’s reports are not only available to the PF, but also to all the football federations in the Brazilian states.

Match-fixing is a serious problem in Brazilian football, as it undermines the fairness and security of the game. The country is currently facing a high-profile investigation into match result manipulation, with evidence dating back to the spring of this year. According to Sportradar, Brazil accounted for 20% of potential match-fixing cases in football in 2022.
