New York’s State Gaming Commission has released its annual figures for the 2024–2025 fiscal year, showing another massive leap for the state’s online sports betting market.
The numbers, which cover the period from April 2024 to March 2025, mark a record-setting year for both handle and revenue. Total sports betting volume hit an all-time high of $23.9 billion — up 20% year over year.
Gross gaming revenue (GGR*) followed suit, climbing 21.6% to reach $2.14 billion, another state record.
As expected, January delivered the year’s peak action, driven by heavy Super Bowl traffic. Bettors staked $2.48 billion during the month, generating $247 million in GGR.
FanDuel and DraftKings continued to dominate the New York market. Combined, the two bookmakers handled $17.8 billion in wagers for the year. Nine operators are currently licensed to offer mobile sports betting in the state.
* GGR is a financial metric used to measure gross earnings, calculated by subtracting total winnings from total bets.
