Swiss company Sportradar has released the number of identified suspicious sports matches detected in 2022 on its official website.

The report revealed that 1212 potential fixed matches were detected across 12 sports in 92 countries during the reporting period. This is an increase of 34.21% compared to 2021, when 903 suspicious sports matches were detected.

Overall, the Sportradar report confirms that 99.5% of sports events worldwide are not related to match-fixing, and that the potential “fix rate” in no sport exceeds 1%.

The Swiss company also noted that in 2022, the number of criminal and sports sanctions imposed by Sportradar’s partners increased by more than two times, reaching 169 (compared to 72 in 2021), reflecting the federations’ and leagues’ commitment to cleaning up sports from match-fixing.
