Brazil’s gambling regulator has granted a betting license to DEFY LTDA, which will operate in the country under the 1xBet brand, according to iGaming Brazil.
The authorization is valid until July 29, 2030, and covers both online betting and land-based betting shops.
The license was issued by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), the authority responsible for regulating the sector following the official launch of Brazil’s regulated betting market on January 1, 2025.
More than 100 companies have already expressed their intention to enter Brazil’s regulated betting market, with many having already received licenses. Among the applicants are major international betting brands, including Betsson, Bet365, Stake, Betfair, and others.
Gambling Park previously reported that Brazil’s online gambling market generated nearly €600 million in taxes during the first half of 2025.
