Dr. Wat Lun from Thailand recently took to social media to share photos of the small magnets extracted from a patient’s fingertips. According to The Thaiger, the foreign objects were intentionally implanted in the man’s body.

The Thai scammer had used “modified” fingertips to cheat at hi-lo — a popular dice game played in illegal Thai casinos. Also known as sic bo in some Asian countries, the game involves throwing three dice and betting on whether the combination will be high (11-18) or low (less than 11).

The scammer’s technique involved flipping the dice, which contained hidden magnets, using the magnetic force of the magnets placed in the middle and ring fingers of his left hand.

Notably, the man had been using magnetic principles in gambling for 40 years. It was only when the gambler was planning to travel by air that he realized the need to have the foreign objects removed from his body. He was worried that the magnetic fingers would trigger an alarm with airport security.

It is worth noting that the man not only risked his fingers but also his freedom, as gambling has been prohibited in Thailand since the early 20th century. Participation in illegal games like hi-lo could lead to imprisonment for up to three years, while the organizers of illegal gambling face even more severe penalties.
