Casino Nieuws reports that Gateway Casinos & Entertainment, a Canadian gaming and entertainment company, had to temporarily close its 14 land-based casinos in Ontario due to a cyberattack that happened over the weekend.

It is reported that the company has hired a third-party organization to investigate the attack and assess the damage.

Meanwhile, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is actively working to determine if any personal information or other sensitive data was compromised during the cyberattack.

Although the company claims no data breach, a full investigation is underway to ensure there are no security loopholes.

For context, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment has a total of 29 establishments throughout Canada, with half in Ontario. It offers over 370 table games and 14,000 slot machines. Last year, the company celebrated its 30th anniversary.
