The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has issued suspensions to three players after uncovering multiple violations tied to match-fixing schemes.
According to ITIA findings, Romanian player Alexandra Iordache accepted money to manipulate the outcome of a match in 2023, recruited another athlete into a corruption ring, and later attempted to destroy evidence linking her to the fix. The 21-year-old has been handed a two-year suspension and fined $15,000, with $5,000 of that suspended. Her ban runs from March 11, 2025, through March 10, 2027.
Thailand’s Anapat Timangkul, 22, was found guilty of rigging five matches between September 2023 and February 2024. He violated the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP) and received a three-year, nine-month suspension, along with a $30,000 fine — $21,000 of which is suspended. His suspension is retroactive to October 8, 2024, when he was provisionally banned, and will end on July 7, 2028.
Chinese player Wang Chukang, 25, was banned for eight months and fined $1,500 for inciting another player to fix a match in May 2022. His suspension runs from March 26, 2025, to November 25, 2025.
All three players are barred from playing, coaching, or attending any event sanctioned by ITIA member organizations (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon, and USTA) or any national federation during the suspension period.
