NFL 2023: Record-Breaking 73.5 Million Americans Ready to Bet Big

The American Gaming Association (AGA) has reported that more than 73.5 million Americans, or about 14% of the U.S. population, are planning to bet on the 2023 National Football League (NFL) season. This is the highest number of bettors ever recorded for the NFL.

The number of bettors has increased by 60% compared to the previous year.

However, not all bettors are responsible with their money. The survey found that 45% of them admitted to betting more than they can afford to lose.

The average bet size ranges from $11 to $50, with only 5% of bettors wagering more than $500 at a time.

Meanwhile, Optimove, an international marketing company, has painted a picture of the typical U.S. bettor: a 21+ U.S. citizen with a family income of around $75,000. The most popular platforms for betting are DraftKings and FanDuel.
