Macau’s casinos could rake in $60 to $70 billion a year in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the next decade, a gaming sector analyst said.
Kenneth Fong from Credit Suisse AG shared his bullish forecast at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia Macau, an international gaming exhibition.
“This year hopefully we’ll hit around $25B or $30B in terms of revenue. In 10 years, I would say double the size… $60B or even $70B is actually quite doable, it depends on, of course, China”, Fong said.
The analyst also pointed out that Macau’s main edge over other gaming destinations like Las Vegas or Singapore is the easy access for customers from mainland China.
Macau’s GGR nearly doubled in Q1 2023 compared to 2022, reaching $4.3B.
