Barcelona, the Spanish city known for its art and culture, has won the bid to host the ICE gambling expo, the world’s largest casino and gaming industry event, starting from 2025 (5-year deal).
The organizers, Clarion Gaming, a division of the British company Clarion Events Ltd, announced the news, saying that it took them six months to choose Barcelona over three other contenders: London, Madrid, and Paris.
Along with ICE, another event by Clarion Gaming called iGB Affiliate, which focuses on online gambling, will also move to Barcelona.
The first gambling expos in Barcelona will take place from January 20 to 22, 2025, at the Fira de Barcelona trade fair center, which covers an area of 240,000 square meters. Clarion Gaming has already booked 40,000 hotel rooms for the visitors.
Alex Pratt, Clarion Gaming managing director, explained why they picked Barcelona: “Barcelona’s bid stood out for its world-class facilities, outstanding hospitality infrastructure, logistics, ROI for customers and ability to scale”.
Clarion Gaming also revealed that another event, iGB Live, which covers online gaming and sports betting, will relocate from Amsterdam to London in July 2025.
