Australian media reports reveal that the founders of the bookmaker Stake.com, Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani, have acquired a stake in the gambling company PointsBet.
Neither Craven nor Tehrani have confirmed the news, and PointsBet has also kept mum.
But insiders say that Craven and Tehrani scooped up a 4.2% stake in the Aussie gambling firm.
Craven and Tehrani have shown interest in the Australian gambling market before. They have said that they plan to launch a licensed betting platform in the country to challenge the likes of Sportsbet, Tabcorp, and PointsBet.
PointsBet is not only active in Australia, but also in the United States. The company recently sold its U.S. business to the sports giant Fanatics for $225 million.
As for Stake.com and its owners, they have also expanded their reach to the Colombian betting market by buying the business of Betfair Colombia.
