The International Tennis Integrity Agency has sanctioned two players and a chair umpire for match-fixing, attempts to recruit others, and failure to cooperate with an investigation.
The most severe penalty was imposed on 28-year-old Serbian player Mila Masic, who was banned for four years and 10 months and fined $20,000, with $5,000 suspended.
In 2024, Masic took part in four fixed matches, accepted payments, engaged in collusion, and failed to report corrupt approaches. She admitted the violations. Her career-high ranking on the WTA Tour was No. 875, reached in December 2024.
Germany’s Jana Vanik, 23, was banned for one year and four months and fined $1,500. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 1257 in April 2024. Vanik did not cooperate with the ITIA investigation and failed to report suspected match-fixing.
Kazakhstan’s Asylbek Kassym, a chair umpire and national-level administrator, was banned for one year and fined $10,000 ($7,000 suspended).
In 2025, he attempted to induce players to take part in match-fixing.
During their periods of ineligibility, all three are barred from competing in, coaching at, officiating at, or attending events sanctioned by the ITIA and its member bodies, including the Association of Tennis Professionals, International Tennis Federation, and Women’s Tennis Association.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported on a match-fixing scandal in Czech football involving players, referees, and clubs.
