In 2023, 888Poker gave back a whopping $365,000 to players who fell victim to scammers and computer-aided cheaters, according to a report on the poker room’s anti-cheating efforts, Cardmates reports.

The report revealed that 888Poker busted 161 accounts using RTA (real-time assistance), a tool that gives players the best advice based on the current situation at the table.

For example, RTA can tell a player whether to fold, call, or raise when it’s their turn.

The report said that about $110,000 of the $365,000 payback came from the confiscated funds of the banned accounts. The rest (around $250,000) came from 888Poker’s own pocket.

This is the biggest amount of money that 888Poker has returned to players who were scammed by cheaters in the last 3 years. In 2021, the poker room paid back only $100,000, and in 2022, it was $287,000.

888Poker representative Matan Krakow commented on the statistics, saying that fighting fraud is getting harder every year due to the fast development of artificial intelligence systems. At the same time, the poker platform tries to keep up, constantly improving its methods to prevent unfair play at the tables. However, as the report shows, the platform is still behind.
