Entain is looking to sell its online poker room PartyPoker, as revealed by the gambling industry newsletter Earning+More.
The deal’s specifics, such as the price and the potential buyers, are still under wraps. However, some sources suggest that big-name American gambling firms could be in the running, with DraftKings and MGM Resorts among the possible contenders.
Entain has remained tight-lipped about its intentions to sell PartyPoker, but more details could emerge when the company releases its annual report for 2023 this Thursday.
The sale of PartyPoker may not be the only move that Entain is considering. The company may also seek to divest some of its other gambling assets, such as Eurobet, CrystalBet, Enlabs, SuperSport, Coral, and Foxy Bingo.
This move comes after Entain’s CEO, Jette Nygaard Andersen, stepped down at the end of last year, amid criticism over her aggressive acquisition strategy, which cost the company around £2 billion.
