Best Director

This category is usually closely tied to the Best Picture winner, and this year is no exception. Christopher Nolan is the overwhelming favorite to win his 1st Oscar for directing Oppenheimer. He has been nominated 5 times before, but never won. Could this be his year? The experts at Bet365 and Betfair think so, and they give him odds of 1.03, which translates to a 97.09% chance of victory.

Best Actress

Get ready for a real clash in this category. Both top contenders are locked in and determined, but only one will come out on top. However, Emma Stone, a multi-award winner and a darling of both audiences and critics, has slightly better odds. This marks the 4th Oscar nomination for the actress, and her sole victory was for her role in the musical La La Land.

On the other hand, Lily Gladstone is just starting her ascent to Hollywood stardom. Killers of the Flower Moon is sure to propel her career, especially if she clinches the coveted statuette.

Best Actor

It’s Cillian Murphy’s first Oscar nomination, and it’s about time for the Irish talent. With a robust filmography that includes a noteworthy collaboration with Nolan (Yep, that’s a solid 6 projects together!), as well as standout performances in Danny Boyle’s films and the cult-favorite Peaky Blinders, Murphy has earned his place in Hollywood’s spotlight. His portrayal of Robert Oppenheimer is a masterclass of acting, and he has the odds to back it up.

Best Supporting Actor

In his third run for the Oscar, Downey Jr. is poised for the long-awaited victory. Chaplin and Tropic Thunder might not have clinched it for him (still stings a bit), but Oppenheimer seems to be the charm. Robert has already bagged a heap of prestigious awards, from the Golden Globes and BAFTAs to the SAG Awards. Now, he’s one step away from the ultimate prize, the one that matters the most.

Best Supporting Actress

She’s been a scene-stealer, a voice actor, and now an Oscar contender. Da’Vine Joy Randolph has been working steadily in the industry for over a decade, appearing in dozens of TV shows and movies. You might recognize her voice from animated hits like Puss in Boots 2, Madagascar, and Trolls. But it was her breakthrough role as Mary Lamb, a grieving mother and the head cook in Alexander Payne’s acclaimed dramedy The Holdovers, that put her on the map. Bookies are pretty confident she’s taking home the award — hardly any doubts there.
