The BANGARANGA brand, which matches the title of Bulgarian singer Dara’s winning song at Eurovision 2026, has been filed for trademark registration in the European Union for use in the gambling sector. The application was submitted on May 17 to EUIPO, the EU’s intellectual property office.
It is not currently known who filed the application. At the initial filing stage, the applicant’s name does not appear in the EUIPO database. It becomes public only after the fees are paid and the application is officially published.
Based on the application description, it appears to have been filed not by Dara herself, but by a company operating in the gambling sector.
The brand is being registered for slot machines and gambling-related services. The name could be used for an online casino, a slot game or another gambling product.
The applicant may be based in Bulgaria. Bulgarian is listed as the first language of the proceedings, which is typical of Bulgarian companies or individuals.

If Dara or her representatives believe the trademark registration infringes their rights, they can file an opposition with EUIPO. This can be done within three months of the application’s official publication.
The registration can be challenged if bad faith on the part of the applicant is proven. For example, this could apply if the applicant is seeking to use the brand not to create an independent product, but to benefit from the popularity of the song and the performer.
