FIFA Prediction Markets Partner’s App Redirects Users to Illegal Online Casino Site

An app bearing the name of ADI Predictstreet, FIFA’s new prediction markets partner, redirects users to a page for the apparently unlicensed online casino Spinkings, Norwegian investigative outlet Josimar has found.

ADI Predictstreet, a Gibraltar-licensed prediction markets platform, was due to launch officially on April 9. However, the company’s website still displays only a “coming soon” message. Meanwhile, an app called ADI Predictstreet appeared on Google Play.

The app is listed in the Shopping category and carries a description unrelated to football, prediction markets or betting. After installation, it does not open a prediction markets platform but instead launches the mobile version of the Spinkings website.

Spinkings’ own websites claim the operator holds a Curaçao licence and offers gambling services to users in the United Kingdom.

However, the online casino does not appear in the current Curaçao gaming licence register or in the database of the UK Gambling Commission.

The Spinkings website itself exists but is effectively non-functional: registration is not possible and many links do not open.

The company listed as the app’s publisher on Google Play is ZHIWW Ltd, a UK company whose director is Zhiwei Wu, a 25-year-old Chinese national.

The Spinkings trademark is owned by Amuzetcom Services Ltd, a company registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a Caribbean island nation. The company is also linked to several other gambling brands, including Top Casino, SarayBet and ZoraBet.

At the same time, the international trademark database contains no registered trademarks for Predictstreet, ADI Predictstreet or the company’s logo. According to Josimar, this may have left the FIFA partner’s brand vulnerable to use by third parties. The outlet said the Google Play app does not appear to be connected to ADI Predictstreet’s official launch.

FIFA and ADI Predictstreet did not comment on the situation.
