Crypto sportsbook and online casino Stake is entering Mexico’s regulated market ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The company has announced the launch of its local website, stake.mx, where Mexican players will be able to access sports betting and casino products.
Stake has not said it has obtained its own licence in Mexico. The company will operate through local partner Uno Capali under an authorisation model overseen by SEGOB, Mexico’s Interior Ministry.
The launch is part of Stake’s wider expansion in Latin America. The company already has a presence in the region, including in Peru and Colombia.
Mexico is seen as an important market for the operator because of the popularity of football, the growth of online gambling, and the widespread use of mobile services.
Another factor is the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament is expected to be one of the region’s biggest sporting events and could increase interest in football betting. Stake is aiming to establish an early presence in Mexico and attract users before the World Cup begins.
Stake director Jarrod Febbraio said Mexico is an important and promising market for the company. According to him, launching ahead of the 2026 World Cup gives Stake an opportunity to enter a major market at the right time and introduce its product to Mexican players.
Earlier, Gambling Park reported that Belgian regulator Kansspelcommissie had opened an inquiry into Eden Hazard’s Stake partnership post over possible promotion of an unlicensed gambling operator.
