Donald Trump and Miriam Adelson

Miriam Adelson, the primary shareholder of Las Vegas Sands, has been acknowledged for her role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, according to reports from Jerusalem Post.

Adelson, a prominent donor to President-elect Donald Trump’s campaigns, is believed to have urged Trump to facilitate the ceasefire.

The warring sides agreed to a ceasefire starting January 19, with the initial phase set to last 42 days. The deal was mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.

Many analysts link the breakthrough in negotiations to Trump’s imminent return to the White House on January 20, suggesting it may have impacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stance. Reports indicate that Adelson’s influence could have played a role in shaping Trump’s position.

Her push for an end to the conflict is tied to her Jewish heritage. Alongside her late husband, Sheldon Adelson — founder of Las Vegas Sands — she has previously played a key role in securing Trump’s support for Israeli interests. The couple is credited with influencing the U.S. recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and the relocation of the American embassy to Jerusalem.

For context: Las Vegas Sands is a global casino and hospitality company that operates major resorts in Las Vegas, Singapore, and Macau.
