match-fixing in tennis

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) have joined forces to offer a special online module on anti-doping and anti-corruption rules for young tennis players. According to the ITIA website, the module will zero in on the unacceptability and potential consequences of match-fixing.

The mandatory training will cover all tennis players with an active International Player Identification Number (IPIN) among juniors, which is used for signing up for tournaments within the ITF tour.

The course will be available in English, Spanish, and French. It will teach players about the rules and regulations that govern tennis, as well as how to contact ITIA staff for advice or assistance if they encounter any suspicious activity.

The online course is an addition to the existing in-person courses that are held throughout the tennis season. For instance, juniors who participate in any of the four Grand Slam tournaments receive regular briefings from ITIA officials.
