Everton, the English soccer club, has announced a new sponsorship deal with Kick, a streaming platform that rivals Twitch. The news was posted on the club’s official website.
The deal will put the Kick logo on the shoulder of Everton’s jerseys. The details of the deal, such as its duration and value, have not been disclosed.
The Kick logo will join Stake.com, the cryptocurrency casino that is the team’s title sponsor, on Everton’s jersey.
What’s interesting is that Kick is closely linked to Stake.com, as it was founded by one of its stakeholders.
This deal might not sit well with some Everton fans, who have already expressed their displeasure with the club’s choice of a gambling sponsor. Now, they have to see their team wearing a jersey that promotes not one, but two platforms that are linked to the controversial industry.
Kick was launched as a rival to Twitch, where casino streams are banned. As we recently reported, Stake.com is investing $200 million to lure top streamers to Kick.
