New York’s Sports Betting Handle Sees 9.7% Decline in February

New York’s sports betting handle took a dip in February, registering at $1.77 billion, a 9.7% decrease from January’s $1.96 billion, as per the state’s gaming commission data.
Despite the month-to-month drop, the handle saw a 20.4% year-over-year increase from February 2023’s $1.47 billion.
Gross gaming revenue (GGR*) for New York’s operators rose to $131.4 million, marking a 21.3% increase over the previous year’s $108.3 million.
Yet, this was the lowest GGR since August 2023, showing a 38% fall from January’s $211.5 million.
February’s top 3 earners in New York were:
- FanFuel: $720.1 million in revenue (GGR: $63.4 million)
- DraftKings: $607.9 million in revenue (GGR: $53.4 million)
- Caesars: $161 million in revenue (GGR: $6.7 million)
* GGR is a financial metric used to measure gross earnings, calculated by subtracting total winnings from total bets.
