The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) is investigating yet another Conservative Party member for potential insider betting on the date of the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to the BBC.

This latest investigation centers on Nick Mason, the data chief for the Conservative Party, who allegedly placed multiple bets that could yield thousands of pounds in winnings, according to local media.

This marks the fourth Tory official implicated in the election betting scandal. Previously, Craig Williams and Laura Saunders were also investigated, while the name of another MP remains undisclosed.

The UKGC’s investigation began after noticing suspicious betting activity on the election date in betting shops shortly before Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the election date of July 4th. The agency suspects that MPs may have used insider information to place bets on the election date.

In addition to MPs, other individuals close to the Prime Minister have also been implicated in this betting scandal. For instance, an officer from Rishi Sunak’s security detail was previously reported to have been involved in the betting activities.
