ULIS: 90 Matches Flagged for Possible Match-Fixing in February

The United Lottery Integrity in Sports (ULIS) has released its latest data on suspicious sporting events for February 2025.

A total of 90 matches were flagged as potentially fixed during the month. For comparison, ULIS identified 85 such cases in January.

As in previous reports, football dominated the list, with 70 matches accounting for 78% of all flagged events in February.

Looking at regional distribution, Asia and Europe recorded the highest number of potential match-fixing cases, with 45 and 28 respectively. The full breakdown:

  • Asia: 45
  • Europe: 28
  • Africa: 6
  • South America: 5
  • North America: 4
  • Oceania: 2

Other key details from the ULIS report:

  • 52 alerts came in during live play, 36 were flagged post-match, and 2 before kickoff.
  • 29 were classified as “red” alerts (high probability of match-fixing) and 61 as “yellow” alerts (moderate suspicion).

For context, ULIS flagged 733 suspicious matches in 2024, averaging 61 per month. The early 2025 numbers indicate a clear uptick.
