Urinal from Memorial Stadium
The University of Nebraska has begun selling off pieces of Memorial Stadium ahead of a major renovation of the venue. According to The Athletic, some of the most unusual items on offer are used urinals priced at $3,000 each.
Memorial Stadium, located in Lincoln, has been home to the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team since 1923. The first game at the venue was played on October 13, 1923, making the stadium 103 years old.
A major overhaul is planned ahead of the 2028 season. The $600 million project will include renovations to all four sides of the stadium, new seating, wider concourses, expanded restrooms and concession areas, as well as improved accessibility for fans with limited mobility.
Rather than throwing away some of the fixtures removed during the renovation, the university decided to sell them to fans as memorabilia.
A total of 30 urinals have been put up for sale, with seven already purchased.
Before being handed over to buyers, the urinals are cleaned but not restored, meaning scratches, fading and other signs of wear remain visible.
Other items available include drinking fountains priced at $2,500, signs, door handles and various stadium fixtures. Among the cheapest pieces of memorabilia are stadium seats, which are being sold for $25.
Nebraska is not the first team to sell unusual pieces of an old stadium. In 2026, the NFL’s Buffalo Bills offered 40 urinals from the old Highmark Stadium for $5,000 each. Fans often repurpose such items as unusual decorations for garages, backyards and fan caves.
