The Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched an inquiry into possible manipulation of user data belonging to the now-defunct online bookmaker tuttur.com. According to Turkiye Today, the probe is part of a broader investigation into betting activity involving figures from Turkish football.
The investigation was triggered by claims circulating on social media alleging that user data may have been unlawfully altered.
According to preliminary reports, information from the tuttur.com database — which had been shared with the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and other authorities — may have been modified, potentially to remove or add certain individuals.
The case concerns information on registered users of the platform who may be linked to the main betting investigation. Experts are examining computers and software previously used to operate the site. Authorities stress that, at this stage, it has not been established whether unauthorized access or data manipulation actually occurred.
Tuttur.com was launched in 2009 and operated legally under a state-issued license in Turkey. The platform was owned by Saran Holding, a conglomerate controlled by businessman Sadettin Saran. Its operations ceased in September 2025 after Saran was elected president of Fenerbahçe SK; under Turkish regulations, individuals holding senior positions in sports organizations cannot be connected to gambling businesses.
The tuttur.com data was incorporated into the wider pool of information collected by authorities during the investigation into betting within Turkish football. Earlier checks revealed that 152 of 571 referees had placed bets. In addition, amid the scandal, 1,024 players — including 27 from the Süper Lig — were suspended.
