A new survey by a research company, Optimove, reveals that many US gamblers are fed up with the flood of annoying gambling-related ads on the internet.
The survey found that 86% of respondents have closed gambling websites that are filled with annoying ad offers, push notifications, texts, and other materials.
The survey involved 396 US citizens aged 21 and above with a household income of $75,000 or more.
Optimove said that the overload of advertising has made users indifferent to its content. This has led to a decline in consumer engagement with marketing, which could hurt the bottom line of gambling companies promoting their services.
However, the survey also found that most respondents (90%) are okay with personalized ads, and 56% said relevance is the key factor for viewing messages.
So, gambling companies can improve their interactions with customers by focusing on personalized offers and making sure they are suitable for gamblers.
As for the preferred channels for receiving advertising notifications, 57% of players said email is the best option. Another 18% said they prefer text messages.
