BetMGM Research: 1 in 5 UK Gamblers Chases Losses

BetMGM, the gambling giant, polled over 1000 UK adults who gambled at least once in the past year.
The survey revealed that more than half of the gamblers (51%) treat their gaming funds differently from their regular savings, even though they know they have the same value.
Of the respondents, 46% like to cash out their winnings to their bank accounts, while 26% use them for more bets.
Most gamblers (92%) play with betting limits to gamble responsibly. But this number is only true for the 18-24 age group.
19% confessed that they usually try to win back their losses. And 14% don’t even think of their gambling winnings as real money.
BetMGM experts said the survey results show the need for more education on gambling, especially since many gamblers tend to chase their losses, which can make things worse for them.
The survey was part of the yearly Europe-wide event “Safer Gambling Week”.
