The European Handball Federation (EHF) is taking action to prevent match-fixing at the European Men’s Handball Championship in Germany, according to Infobae.
- First and foremost, EHF will hold a discussion with all tournament officials to make sure they can spot any signs of match-fixing.
- Secondly, EHF will also remind the officials of their duty to prevent and report any unfair matches. The referees already know the risks of match-fixing, but the EHF wants to be extra careful.
The EHF will get some help from Sportradar, a Swiss company that specializes in sports integrity. Sportradar has been working with the EHF for a long time.
But Sportradar will do more than just talk. It will also monitor every match for any suspicious bets at the bookies.
Sportradar will use its own system, the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), to catch any match-fixers.
