DraftKings, a prominent American sportsbook, has successfully finalized its acquisition of tech company Jackpocket — the brains behind a popular lottery app.
Jackpocket’s mobile app allows users to conveniently purchase lottery tickets in 16 U.S. states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico.
Recently, the company also ventured into the online casino space with a launch in New Jersey.
The deal cost one of the leading sportsbooks in the U.S. $750 million, with DraftKings projecting that this acquisition will generate up to $340 million in additional annual revenue.
Jason Robins, CEO and co-founder of DraftKings, expressed optimism about the future: “We look forward to continuing to deliver enhanced value to our customers and shareholders as we integrate Jackpocket into the DraftKings ecosystem.”
