SOFTSWISS, a software developer for bookmakers, has released some interesting statistics about betting trends in the first half of 2023, European Gaming reported.
The company’s research shows that the top 3 sports for betting among bookmaker customers are football, basketball, and tennis – no surprises there.
But what’s more impressive is the rapid growth in bets placed on esports disciplines. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) stands out as the most popular esports game for betting.
The number of bets and the total amount wagered on this game increased by a whopping 339% and 388%, respectively (compared to the first half of 2022).
League of Legends and Dota 2 follow as the next most popular esports games for betting.
SOFTSWISS also reveals the preference of bettors for mobile devices and live bets. Mobile devices account for 78.3% of all bets, while live bets make up 61.5% of all bets.
