Gambling Addiction

Concerns have been raised by the charity organization GamCare regarding a potential surge in problem gambling among Britons following the conclusion of EURO 2024, as reported by The Mirror.

GamCare believes that many UK residents developed a habit of betting during the month-long football championship. Now, with EURO 2024 over, these gamblers may turn their attention to other forms of gambling, including online casinos, potentially leading to an increase in gambling addiction cases.

It is worth noting that GamCare operates the National Gambling Helpline.

The helpline has already seen a spike in calls and online messages from Britons seeking help for gambling-related issues during the European Championship. The highest volume of inquiries was recorded after England’s match against Slovakia on June 30.

In light of these concerns, GamCare urges individuals who are struggling with gambling problems following EURO 2024 to reach out to the helpline’s dedicated staff for guidance and support.
