The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch gambling regulator, has confirmed the rollout plan for its new Responsible Gaming Policy.

The majority of the changes are set to take effect on June 3, with the remaining amendments following in October 2024.

The implementation, initially slated for May 2024, was postponed to June due to an extension granted for industry feedback on the proposed policy changes. This extension was triggered by the substantial response from stakeholders.

Last December, stakeholders were given additional time to comment on the proposed changes to the Responsible Gaming Policy. These changes aim to enhance online providers’ duty of care towards their players.

Two specific dates have been outlined for the enforcement of different aspects of the policy. Most revised rules will be enacted on June 3, with certain sections related to player behavior analysis and interventions enforced from October 1, 2024.

The KSA notes that these sections may undergo minor adjustments based on consultation feedback. Providers are given ample time to implement necessary changes in their information and communication technology (ICT), policies, and personnel.
