In 2023, Anjouan in the Comoros islands is drawing the attention of gambling companies worldwide. Since many countries put the brakes on gambling within their borders, an Anjouan license lets in most customers.
The island has changed its laws and offers more flexible conditions and prices for licensing than the well-known island of Curacao in the Caribbean Sea.
The license covers all types of games, suits both B2C and B2B, and goes for 1 year with the chance to renew. All startup managers face a background check and need to give business reports often when the authorities ask. The license is granted after applying by a company registered in Anjouan.
The service price is cheap for businesses on a shoestring budget, topping the prices of famous spots like Malta, the Isle of Man, and Curacao.
Why is Dutch Curacao at risk of losing its lead? Due to fears over the lack of control over online gambling services, reforms have kicked off. In 2019, they raised the bar for financial transparency. As a result, several operators said they would pack their bags and hunt for new licensing markets.
