Model and influencer Wanda Nara, the former wife of footballer Mauro Icardi, is among several Argentine celebrities ordered by a Buenos Aires court to participate in a government-backed campaign against illegal gambling, La Nación reports.
A total of 16 Argentine influencers have already published videos on social media warning about the dangers of unregulated gambling and gambling addiction.
But this was no voluntary initiative — the videos are part of a court-mandated penalty.
The influencers, including Nara, had previously promoted illegal gambling platforms online. As part of their legal settlement, they are now required to:
- Record and share videos explaining the risks of gambling on illegal sites
- Upload these videos as social media “Stories” for three consecutive days
- Continue publishing anti-gambling messages for one month
- Complete an educational course from the national gambling authority on gambling addiction and illegal betting
Authorities say more than 110 influencers are currently under investigation, with the campaign expected to grow as further court decisions are handed down.
